At the Gladys Giving Foundation, we understand that every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes to the fabric of our community. Founded in 2020 by Gladys Ijelu, on the belief that together, we can create lasting and meaningful change, the Foundation strives to empower individuals and organizations to support those in need. Our mission is rooted in the principles of compassion, connection, and courage, guiding us to uplift those in need and transform lives through generosity and service. 

The story of the Gladys Giving Foundation is one of heartfelt dedication and shared aspirations. Our journey began with our Founder creating baskets during the pandemic to help spread love and joy during a tremendous amount of tragedy and sorrow. Baskets were delivered to hospitals, schools, churches and personal deliveries to families in other states. What started as a simple project to put some smiles on people's faces, quickly turned into a larger mission and purpose of giving back through what has now grown to a larger entity of blessing the community with resources, essential items, toys, clothes and so much more, during the holidays. The holidays mean so much to Gladys because during a tough time in her childhood when she faced health challenges while being in the hospital for 5 months, she had to spend several holidays in the hospital. During that time, she was fortunate to be showered with so much love and support from her medical team, family, friends, and different organizations. One of her goals once she got better was to able to provide the same love she received during those holidays to others and that is how the Gladys Giving Foundation, formally known as the Gladys Giving Project, was started. 

As we continue to grow, our foundation remains committed to creating open channels of support for individuals and families facing challenges. Our focus on community engagement and grassroots initiatives drives every facet of our work, enabling us to connect with diverse individuals and organizations who share our passion for helping others. We believe in the power of unity and aim to weave together the stories and experiences of those we serve, creating a dynamic support network that emphasizes hope, strength, and resilience.
